York Carers Forum



Do you support a relative, friend or neighbour in a caring role? • Are you looking after someone in an unpaid capacity? Then you are an unpaid carer!
York Carers Forum is a user-led group of unpaid carers and former carers (over the age of 18) who live, work or care for someone who lives in the York area. We are a UK Registered Charity and so we rely on fundraising, donations and freely given time in order to provide support to upaid carers living in the York area.
York Carers Forum supports and empowers unpaid carers and former carers (aged over 18) by:
•Raising awareness about unpaid carers’ needs.
•Providing a focus across all carer groups.
•Gathering information for carers and sending it out in a free monthly newsletter and e-newsletter: ’York Carers Voice’.
•Drop-in meetings.
•Speakers and Events.
•Providing respite such as mini massages or trips out.
•Working with related organisations to develop appropriate services that would benefit the carers of York.
