York Health Walks

Micklegate Ward, York

York Health Walks is a series of free, regular walks around the York area. Once organised by City of York Council, the scheme is now operated by trained volunteers. Walks are between 30 and 90 minutes depending on location.
We love our walks and we’re sure you will too. They’re great for meeting new friends, filling your lungs with fresh air and discovering new places to walk in your local area. It’s a wonderful form of natural exercise that can keep you healthy, living longer – and will even put a smile on your face! Information leaflets on the walks, which include a timetable, can be found in doctors’ surgeries, libraries and other community places as well as on these websites www.walkingforhealth.org.uk and https://www.york.gov.uk or www.facebook.com/yorkhealthwalks.
The walks include some wheelchair and pushchair friendly routes, which avoid steps, stiles and uneven ground.
There is no need to book, simply turn up on the day. Walking requires very little skill or specialist kit, so why not join us and put your Best Foot Forward.
