A qualified teacher leads the setting.
The facilities have been recently refurbished and are specifically designed for nursery education. They are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of education and promote high outcomes for all learners.
There is a large outside area planned with the support of Early Excellence to maximise learning, this facility is enhanced by access to a large field, forest school and ‘playground’ area for bikes, trikes, scooters and games skills.

Enhanced Services
Nursery session times:
Morning – 8:45am until 11:45am
Lunch – 11:45am until 12:30pm
Afternoon – 12:30pm until 3:30pm

Children can access wrap around care with breakfast club, lunch club and afterschool club providing age appropriate provision from 7:45am until 6pm. Holiday club facilities are also available.

Cost
From the term they are three children are entitled to 15 hours funded education. Some working families are entitled to 30 hours funded. Additional sessions can be purchased at a cost of £12 per session.
Lunch club cost is £3:50 per day. Children can bring their own lunch or enjoy a school dinner for the additional cost of £2:25.


Inclusion
The Nursery is run by a qualified teacher who has the EYFS SENDCO qualification. The EYFS2 teacher also has this qualification. EYFS is supported by the SENDCO for Osbaldwick Academy who has completed the School SENDCO qualification which is the standard of a Master’s Degree.
Staff working within the department access the appropriate CPD to support children in their care. Currently we have staff trained in autism, moving and handling, speech and language, diabetes and global delay. Osbaldwick Academy always responds to specific needs with customised training before the child enters school so every child can access our curriculum.
The Early Years setting provides resources to support all learning, including differentiated equipment, visual aids, timetables and a sensory room. One to one adult provision is provided when necessary.
