Dementia Cafe

Riccall with Escrick, York

Every first Thursday of the month we host a Riccall Care Community Link Dementia Café. Our cafés have been a great success but we have found that some people think you have to have dementia to join us, which is not the case!

The title ‘dementia café’ simply means that we are equipped and very happy to welcome everyone, including those with dementia. As we are a home care company, we of course have special expertise in this area and can combine our get-togethers with giving advice and support to anyone who knows or cares for a dementia sufferer.

The most important thing is that we all have a great time together. Chatting, laughing, sometimes singing and, yes, we have had a dance too. Anything goes and everyone is welcome to join us.

It’s always great to get out and about if you are able and we always guarantee a warm welcome, a cup of tea or coffee and a tasty biscuit or bun. Why not use this time to ask us anything about home care and support for elderly or vulnerable. In our wide experience we can also signpost you to other groups and resources that can help.

Meet some new faces, catch up with old friends, you never know what you’ll learn…

Make it a date, every first Thursday of the month, 2 – 4pm at the Riccall Care Training Suite for some great company in our dementia friendly café.

See you there!
